Dr. Jessie Champagne

Veterinarian

DVM

About me:

Dr. Champagne is originally from Cornwall, Ontario, Canada and currently lives in Peru with her husband Garret. Outside of work, she loves travel and veterinary mission trips - she has spent over 6 months in Laos and over 3 months in Tanzania doing veterinary volunteer work.  She enjoys spending her free time doing paint by numbers, reading and hockey (She was an ice hockey goalie for 18 years). Fun fact about her is that her first language is French.

Special Interests:

Dr. Champagne is really interested in dermatology (skin/allergies) and exotics (especially chinchillas, snakes, fish and frogs).

Pets:

Dr. Champagne has two dogs - a Blue Heeler/Catahoula Mix named Jaeger and a Black Mouth Cur named Nitro.

Education:

Dr. Champagne is a 2024 graduate from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Professional Program of Veterinary Medicine (PPVM). This is a 2+2 program with Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She was a member of the Nebraska and Iowa Student Chapter of the American Veterinary Medicine Association all four years of veterinary school. She was also an active member of the Christian Veterinary Fellowship.

Dr. Champagne received two bachelor degrees in Microbiology and Veterinary Science from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Favorite thing about my Job:

I love genuine connection with clients and taking care of their pets while educating and finding a way that works best for them to take charge of their pet’s health.
